Our Rooms

In our Baby Room our highly experienced staff team care for children from 6 weeks to 2 years of age. Our minimum staff ratio in our baby room is one member of staff to every three children and where possible this number is even lower. Our priority is to create a home away from home for your baby where they can grow and develop in a safe and stimulating environment.

We offer a wide variety of activities and opportunities for your baby to participate in. We try to get outdoors as often as possible and our babies enjoy walks around our local community as well as picnics in the park and visits to local landmarks.

Our Toddler Room provides a more structured day with a greater choice of learning opportunities including arts and crafts, construction, sensory activities using natural resources, cooking and baking and much more.

We begin to introduce early numeracy and literacy through play-based activities designed to develop your child’s communication and life skills. We also work to encourage each child’s independence and awareness of personal hygiene skills.

Our minimum staff to child ratio in our Toddler Room is one member of staff to every five children.

Happitots Nursery South Lanarkshire College follows the Curriculum for Excellence and is recognised as a 3-5 year old centre by our local Education Department. Our minimum staff to child ratio in our 3-5s Room is one member of staff to every eight children.

Children benefit from an extensive variety of resources and activities and are encouraged to make their own decisions about which they would like to participate in to encourage their independence and confidence. Our activity planning is child-led to ensure that we explore individual and group learning needs and interests. Staff also introduce simple literacy and numeracy as well as health and wellbeing skills.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that when children leave nursery to move on to school, they do so confidently, taking with them an enjoyment of learning and a pride in their achievements.

All of our playrooms have direct access to our outdoor play area. Each has a garden directly off their room which allows activities to continue indoors and outdoors, encouraging children to access fresh air and exercise on a daily basis.

Our 3-5 year olds also have access to a garden area external to the building which has space to climb, jump and explore in a natural green garden.

We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing, so we ask that parents provide their children with appropriate clothing, from wellington boots to sunglasses.
